The race
Klaustur Off-Road Challenge is a 6 hour off-road event for dirt bikes. The event is held at a farm called Ásgarður which is is just outside Kirkjubæjarklaustur in South Iceland. The event starts at 12 at noon and the checkered flag is raised 6 hours later at 18. In 2018 the race will be held on Saturday 26th of May. If you enjoy riding dirt bikes this is definitely an event for you and possibly the whole family. Do not let the words "race" or "competition" pull you away from participating. Those words are really just an excuse to get together and have a great day of riding. Similarly, you don't have to worry about not having enough experience or ability on the bike. The track is suitable for everyone. There are no obstacles that require extensive experience and knowledge. The track is mostly grass, sand and dirt. Big stones and rocks, steep slopes and mudholes are not to be found in the track. We do this without compromising on entertainment value. Further down on this page, you can see what classes are available and what conditions must be met in order to participate. If you are under 14 years of age, the birthday applies, you should click the "Kids" button at the top of the page. If you live in Iceland: Registration takes place on MSÍ's website, www.msisport.is. In order to register you need to be a paid member of a racing association within MSÍ. In the metropolitan area you will find VÍK and MotoMos. In the western part you can search for VÍFA. In the more suthern part search for UMF Selfoss / Þór Þorlákshöfn or Hreppakappar in Hrunamannahreppur. In the north it's KKA Akureyri and east is Start of Egilsstaðir. Talk to your local club for further information regarding payment of membership fees and access to the site of MSÍ. If VÍK is your association, please send an e-mail to vik@motocross.is If you do not live in Iceland but want to compete you will either have to find someone you know in Iceland or e-mail the association which organizes the event by e-mailing vik@motocross.is
